My name is Chris i am 29 years old and i was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. i am the oldest of four, My Father is from Hong Kong and my Mother is from Edinburgh. I moved to Northumerland about 6 years ago where i opened up a chinese Restaurant with my Family. Through hard work and consistancy we were voted one of the best chinese restaurants in Northumerland! I became a christian about two years ago and attend I Regent Chapel Christian Fellowship.

I wasn’t brought up in a Christian family but before I put my trust in Christ, I lived a life that was “Agnostic” I have always been a spiritual person but religion was never a part of my life. I never really had anyone growing up to “show me the way of Christ” I hope one day to encourge others who are from impoverished areas where it is lacking the Gospel.

There are lots of people whose only aim is to work until you have enough money to retire (which is rare) and children growing up all depressed and confused in this ‘new age of social media’;
these are people I hope to reach out to, otherwise, they may never hear God’s word.

How I came to Christ – The last 2-3 years I would have my family (Ryan and Jennifer who were now Christians) in one ear when having dinner, preaching the bible and I would automatically disregard it because I was stubborn and couldn’t be bothered to listen. throughout the past few years, I attended Charlotte chapel in Edinburgh a few times but it did not affect me mostly because I didn’t understand. Then Craig Bruce asked me to go with him to Regent Chapel were he did First Serve placement. I became interested and all of these conversations I was listening to suddenly came to light.

I started coming by myself each week and then with my family and after a few months, I texted Craig asking if he would email Andy to see if he and I could have a chat. One day after the service Andy came up to me and asked me if I would be interested in doing Christianity explored. To which I agreed.

I spent roughly one day a week with Andy exploring Christianity. We talked about who Jesus was, why he came, why he died for us and his resurrection. About halfway through Christianity explored I finally knew that nothing of material value will satisfy me apart from God,
and at that point is where I sat down with Andy and asked God into my life.

• turns out Craig never emailed Andy… but God knew I needed that conversation.

Now I am continually becoming a new person in Christ everyday. I still have bad days but now I have God I have no fear. If you could see my life before I was a Christian, the way I thought and acted it was a path to self destruction. There is no one that could help me other than GOD!

Now God has brought me to First Serve where i will Learn to Serve, Serve Global and Serve God.

Titus 3:5-7 says this
He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done,
but because of his mercy.
He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. Amen
